The Kentucky Suicide Prevention Group is made up of people who have been affected by suicide, either personally or professionally. We are moms, dads, daughters, sons, brothers, sisters, friends, uncles, aunts, clinicians, mental health advocates and others who have either lost someone close to us, are survivors of attempts or family members of someone close who has attempted. And we are here to put a human face on suicide.
Our vision is to lead the Commonwealth in providing and promoting opportunities for all Kentuckians
to become active in the reduction of suicide deaths and attempts.
Our mission is to decrease suicide deaths and attempts in the Commonwealth through
advocacy, education, training and evaluation.

We believe suicide is a preventable public health problem, and we are devoted to help keep our fellow Kentuckians alive. Suicide is a leading cause of death in our state, particularly for our youth and young adults. It’s time we talk about this and unite so other families are spared the lifetime of pain and grief that we know all too well.
